Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position involves:

• Collaborating closely with Business Lead, Managers, and Project Directors on civil design for linear infrastructure.
• Coordinating civil design aspects and taking responsibility for the design.
• Developing or verifying the technical scope of projects.
• Completing civil designs within budget and schedule.
• Participating in design coordination meetings and addressing critical issues.
• Working with engineering teams to facilitate civil design decisions.
• Ensuring client requirements, specifications, and standards are integrated into projects.
• Following quality control processes.
• Mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Representing GHD in client meetings when required.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions and validation processes to meet functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost standards.
• Contribute to engineering standards, specifications, and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Manage small to medium projects within established program plans.
• Analyze and specify methods and processes for manufacturing or materials.
• Manage relationships with contract service providers.
• Define and deliver products and services to meet customer needs.
• Work within knowledge management systems to achieve outcomes.
• Develop personal capabilities through training, education, and accreditation.
• Conduct inspections to evaluate engineering works and structures.
• Identify and implement improvements in processes and procedures.
• Manage relationships with small clients and support senior colleagues with larger clients.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, with a track record in design delivery for complex civil and facility projects.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineering license (PEO) required.
• Minimum 10 years of extensive technical design experience.
• Experience in civil design for large, multi-discipline projects, especially linear infrastructure.
• Experience in a Design Build environment.
• Understanding of local codes and standards.
• Experience with 3D design environments.
• Team building and mentoring skills.
